Notes on Shipping, Delivery, and Return Policy
Please do not contact us to inquire about an order that was placed less than three weeks before. We are a
small company and simply do not have the resources to investigate these requests.  That is why we
exclusively use the United States Post Office.  They are incredibly reliable.  Also, once we have given the
order to the Post Office we have no way of tracking it, and therefore would be unable to tell you exactly
when you will receive your order.  But rest assured, the reason that we exclusively use the United States
Post Office for our shipping is that we have found that it provides the most economical, most reliable
service.  For domestic orders we provide the two options of
Priority Mail or Media Mail.  To understand

services of the United States Post Office and come with the efficiencies and capabilities of the United States
Post Office.  We provide these two options so that our customers have a choice between speed and
economy.  For
Canadian orders, (the only country other than the US to which we ship), we use the
United States Post Office's
Global Airmail Letter-Post service.  Please note that this is the optimum
service for price and delivery.

Please be aware, if you selected Media Mail, it will be slower than Priority Mail, sometimes a lot
slower, however, you will save money.  If you are in a hurry for your books, it would be best to
select Priority Mail.  If you want to save some money, select Media Mail.  

Please note that the Postal Service is not always consistent as to how fast they deliver Priority Mail, Media
Mail, or Global Airmail.  We'll get compliments on how fast orders arrived and complaints about how slow
others arrived.  This is not a reflection on Hester Publishing, as we will process and send your order to the
Post Office on either the same day that we receive it, or on the next business day, any irregularities in the
delivery time is due to the efficiencies and workload of the Post Office.  Also please note that the Federal
Trade Commission says any estimate we give regarding when a book will arrive becomes a guarantee and a
law violation if not met, therefore we cannot even estimate arrival dates. However, if it has been three
weeks and you have not received your order, there is probably a problem and we will be glad to investigate
and take appropriate action.

Order Types:
We only accept secure shopping cart internet orders.  With the secure shopping cart, you process your
own order.  That has a number of benefits to all concerned as you will read below.  We prefer not to accept
snail mail, checks, or money orders. These orders require more handling, errors can occur, and shipping is
delayed until payment has processed.  Please realize that internet orders that use a credit card are
completely encrypted with the latest technology and are the safest most secure method of ordering.    We
do not accept fax or phone orders due to the possibility of errors.

• Refunds: If we charge you in error—which is virtually impossible because you process your own charge—
we will refund the erroneous charge.  If you receive a physically defective book, we will send you a
replacement after you have returned the defective one to us.  Otherwise, sales are final and no
cancellations are allowed.  The notion of cancellations implies that we put orders in some sort of holding
area before shipping and could pull them out of that area when cancelled. There is no such thing at our
company or any other. When we process an order it goes from beginning of processing to out the door in
a matter of minutes or hours.  Virtually every cancellation attempt we ever received arrive after the books
in question were shipped.

Shipping Costs: As mentioned above, we ship exclusively by the United States Post Office to keep costs
down.  For Priority Mail the shipping charge is roughly the postage.  We have programmed our Yahoo Store
with ZIP codes, book weights, and U.S. postal rate information.  We are not able to make Yahoo Store’s
calculation come out exactly, but the charge is generally the same as the postage or a little less or a little
more.  As for Media Mail we have added the cost of the packaging to the postal rate.  When you compare
the two options, (by clicking the "Apply" button on the order page), you will be able to see the cost
advantage of Media Mail, however, it will generally take longer than Priority Mail.  We have also added the
cost of the packaging to the Global Airmail rate.

Please do not ask how long it will take to get your order. The post office is erratic so the delivery date is
not predictable. We do not check on an unreceived order until three weeks have elapsed since it was
shipped. Three weeks is not how long it takes to get your order. Rather, it is how long it takes to convince
us that something is wrong. Some orders are returned to us by the USPS and we have to wait to see if
that has happened before we take any action.

In our experience, about 98% of the orders that are not three weeks overdue are delivered without error.

• Rush orders: We do no rush orders at all. It does not matter if you offer to pay extra. We tried in the
past. Too many complaints about cost, not fast enough, etc.

• Customers outside the U.S:  We only ship to Canada and APO or FPO addresses (U.S. military,
diplomats), for outside the U.S.  All orders to Canada go via the USPS Global Airmail Letter-Post service.  
Priority Mail and Media Mail are for all APO & FPO addresses since these are treated as domestic orders and
these services will deliver to those locations.  We do not ship outside of the U.S or Canada.  

• Volume discounts: We do not offer a volume discount.  There is generally no postage savings since
postal charges are weight-based.
