Franklyn E. Meyer graduated from the
University of Missouri, and served as a
commissioned officer in the United
States Marine Corps.  He taught
English and Social Studies and coached
in the upper elementary grades at a
private school in Sarasota, Florida. He
has freelanced articles and short
stories to various magazines and was
Outdoor Editor at the Sarasota, FL
Herald-Tribune for a number of years.  
Mr. Meyer is the author of
Me and
Caleb
, ©1962, which won the Charles
W. Follett Award as
“best contribution
to children’s literature.”
With the
sequel,
Me and Caleb Again, ©1969,
the books sold more than 100,000
copies in hardback in the United States

and were reprinted in Europe.  In 2006
Mr. Meyer completed the long awaited
finale to the
Me and Caleb books, the
aptly titled,
More Me and Caleb Again.

He is married and the father of three
children. The Meyers live in Venice,
Florida.
