ME AND CALEB AGAIN.   By Franklyn E.
Meyer.  Illustrated by Charles Liese.  184 pp.
Ages 8-12.
This second book about Me and Caleb
is just as fresh and funny as the first.
Which chapter will be top favorite? The
one about building a box house for the
dog to have her puppies in or the one
about Papa's demonstrating the
chemistry set? The overnight camping
trip or the family argument over big
sister's green bikini?
The charm of this book is that its
characters are instantly recognizable as
today's youngsters and at the same time
can be recognized by today's parents as
themselves when young. Whole families
will be glad that Me and Caleb are back
again!

ME AND CALEB AGAIN.   By Franklyn E.
Meyer.  Illustrated by Charles Liese.  184 pp.
Ages 8-12.
Readers of 8 to 12 will certainly find
something to enjoy in the adventures of
Bud and Caleb. Each chapter is a separate
adventure that stirs the emotions, be it
hilarious or sometimes sad.
The boys are typical youngsters and in this
book they torment girls, aggravate their big
sister, annoy their teacher, and tease the
town grouch. On the other side of the
scale, there is the awful moment when Bud
and a neighbor's dog come face to face
with a poisonous snake, and when Papa
gets very sick and they are needed to help
out.
In 1962, Franklyn Meyer received the
Charles W. Follett . Award for
Me and
Caleb. This book also leaves the reader
asking for more amusing adventures.  It is
the kind of book to make the disinterested
youngster enthusiastic.
The Illustrations by Charles Liese add
much to this very funny book.
